Karim Shamsi Basha - Syrian Muslims Convert to Christianity

A former Muslim from Syria, Karim Shamsi-Basha, told his story of becoming a Christian. Through his book entitled " Paul and Me", Shamsi-Basha tells how his brain disease had made him meet Jesus.

The book Paul and Me contains the story of Shamsi-Basha when he was in a coma for almost a month due to a brain aneurysm. After he had made a complete recovery, the brain surgeon told him that very few people recovered the way he did. The surgeon said to Shamsi-Basha, "You must find out why you are alive."

Since that event, Shamsi-Basha has struggled to spend nearly 20 years of his life trying to find out about Jesus and learn what his purpose is. Now Shamsi-Basha has a vision of life "To share God's love with people and let them know that He loves all of His children."

The book  Paul and Me was  released last August 2013. Apart from containing Shamsi-Basha's personal journey until he found God, this book also contains several theological perspectives about Paul, a former persecutor of Christians who finally converted on his way to Damascus, an ancient city located in Syria.

Shamsi-Basha was born and raised in a Muslim family in Syria. He and his family are quite tolerant of various religions and beliefs. Two of Shamsi-Basha's friends are Christians and they often have discussions about their respective religions.

God has countless ways to bring sinful humans to Him. He can use illness, success, calamity, or the people around us so that we can know Him, the Great Savior. The next problem is our own choice: are we willing to open the door of our heart and let Him enter it? Or reject him and seek other paths to salvation?
